I apologize in advance for being a noob. I ran my first autocross yesterday, and I noticed the rear tires had these burn-like marks around them. Did I damage my tires, or is this nothing to worry about?

Pretty sure you're just accessing more of the rubber near the sidewall than usual. Takes some of the patina off.

I'm colourblind but to me it kinda looks like the tires rubbed on the inner wheel arch, since it looks like the marks on the tire are the same colour as the paint.

Normal, hooning does this to your car.

As others have said thats fine. Infact, its perfect, you didnt even begin to scrub/roll over the sidewall. Lightweight cars ftw.

That's great news thanks! I was actually wearing my simplify and add lightness shirt yesterday, haha.

It probably means you need to hoon more!

Nah, you're fine. You should see the shoulder blocks on my Camry's tires. The look MELTED. Yes I corner hard in my Camry. I blame the new roundabouts they put in last year near my house.
Your 2 is looking quite orange in that pic.... aaaaannnnd now I wanna see a Mazda2 in MSP Spicy Orange.

I came from a Spicy Orange MSP... I will STRONGLY consider doing it when I have the money. I miss the orange...

I know, that's why I did a double take with the pic. :)
